The last concert in KISS history: emotion and unforgettable memories in New York

On December 2, 2023, KISS brought his illustrious career to a close. A momentous occasion, and an opportunity to bring home a guitar from the Starchild!

After months of touring the world, the End Of The Road Tour finally came to an end in New York on December 2, 2023. For the last time in their history, the four boys of KISS donned costumes and make-up before setting fire to a sold-out Madison Square Garden. It was a memorable evening for many reasons - in that the band was digitally immortalized thanks to avatar technology - but when the band closed their set with Rock and Roll All Nite on Saturday night, they also closed the final chapter of their career.

Matt was present for this exceptional night. After years of working with KISS, Matt formed a sincere relationship with Paul Stanley. That evening, it was a chance to take home one last historic Starchild guitar: Paul's main Gibson Flying V custom, played for many years and on the last date in KISS history in New York.

The guitar in question - a superb ebony Custom Shop with a curious star tailpiece, block inlays and a split diamond Gibson logo on the headstock - was one of Paul Stanley's favorite guitars (it is inscribed #1 on the back of the headstock). Paul Stanley renamed this guitar "PSV1". Specifically, he played it for the songs Say Yeah and Cold Gin. Shortly after curtain-up on Saturday evening, the Flying V was handed over to Matt and joined the private collection of the Matt's Guitar Shop. A piece of history, and the occasion of a new article in GuitarWorld!
