Nik Huber Blue Whale

Sold

Nikolaus Huber IV has established himself as one of the most talented guitar makers of his generation. He set up his workshop in 1996, and since then has constantly redefined the level of perfection associated with the coveted term “boutique guitar”. His instruments have won over many musicians, particularly among the smart metal-merchants of Red Fang, Kvelertak, and Russian Circles. By all accounts, his most successful creations are guitars with luxurious flamed tops that incorporate the typical elements of a Les Paul sunburst with a precision of manufacturing that has never existed at Gibson. Those models are named after marine mammals, such as the Orca and the Dolphin..

But the king of the marine mammals is none other than the blue whale, and as such the Blue Whale is the most luxurious guitar from Nik Huber, a true masterpiece with only 25 in existence. There is a one-piece quilted maple top on a mahogany body that is also very beautiful to look at (which is very rarely the case). But, above all, a Brazilian rosewood neck and fingerboard. Yes, you read that right. The whole neck has been crafted out of that hallowed material that has become as rare as it is coveted for its beautiful chocolate colour. And since Huber does not do anything by half, even the panel that covers the access cavity to the electronics is made of that precious wood. The Haüssel pickups are obviously inspired by the original PAFs. The fingerboard has been decorated with a very finely inlaid blue whale, and all this produces an instrument that is on a first-name basis with perfection.
This particular guitar is numbered 12 out of 25.
